Our Family Story

From humble beginnings to becoming Auburn's favorite spot for chicken and seafood, KP's Place has been serving up fresh, hand-breaded goodness for over 13 years.

KP's Place was established in July 2012 by Keith Genest.  The restaurant was based primarily off his late brother Mike's eating establishment (Mike's Place) in Farmingdale.  Keith comes from a long line of restaurant owners starting with his grandfather, Guy, who opened Bolley's Famous Franks in Waterville.  Following Guy, Keith's father opened Don's Famous Franks in Augusta in 1978, and is now owned by his brother Troy, and still operating today under the name "The Hott Dogg House".  KP's Place opened with just 24 seats, and over the last several years it has expanded to 75+ seats by adding additional square footage and having multiple face lifts to the interior.  The expansion was necessary to accommodate our increasing dine-in business all while maintaining our popular takeout option.  As you can see when you first walk into the establishment, we are open concept with our kitchen area very visible and part of the atmosphere - that was done with intention!  Through all the growth over the years, KP's Place has always put an emphasis on producing a consistent menu.  They make sure the procure the best available fresh chicken and seafood, and put out a menu you can count on every single time you walk in.  They always say, "We are not fancy, but you know what you are getting, at a fair price, in a friendly environment".
